The Belkin Lightning Adapter lets you listen to music and charge your iPhone 7 at the same time.
Many iDevice fans are annoyed by the removal of the 3.5mm headphone jack from the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. However, the Silicon giant has included a pair of EarPods and a headphone adapter in the box with the new iPhones. But what if you want to charge and listen to music with your headphones at the same time?
Thanks to Belkin, that problem can be solved for $39.99. The “Lightning Audio + Charge RockStar” Adapter, created in partnership with Apple, turns a single Lightning port into two ports. However, they’re both Lightning ports.
“We are excited to bring the Lightning Audio + Charge RockStar to our customers, expanding our family of RockStar multi-port products and creating an easy way for people to charge and listen on the go,” says Steve Malony, VP, GM Belkin.
The Adapter plugs into the Lightning port on your iPhone 7 and then allows you to plug in both a charging and Lightning-connected headphones. In other words, if you're using headphones with a traditional 3.5mm jack, you'll need to first connect them to an official Apple Lightning adapter, then plug that adapter into the Belkin adapter.
The Lightning Audio + Charge RockStar will be available starting October 10. The adapter supports up to 12W of charging and 48 kHz 24-bit audio output, as well as a remote and microphone for Lightning-compatible headphones. It's compatible with the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, as well as any other Lightning-compatible devices running iOS 10.
