Microsoft has specifically optimized Internet Explorer 11 to save battery power on tablets and laptops, and the Redmond company's latest tests confirm that the browser is at the top.
7tutorials has conducted a series of tests on three devices to determine which browser is the best for saving battery on tablets and laptops. The tests were conducted on a Toshiba Encore 8-inch tablet, a Surface Pro 2, and an HP Pavilion laptop .
On the Toshiba Encore, upon completion of the tests, it was found that Internet Explorer 11 maintained battery life for 8 hours and 52 minutes, while Firefox reduced the autonomy to 6 hours and 38 minutes.
On the Surface Pro 2, IE11 could be used for 4 hours and 45 minutes, and in this case Firefox came very close with 4 hours and 22 minutes.
