With Gogoro already having surpassed one million EV on the market, the charging network has established itself as a de facto standard for batteries in electric motorcycles and scooters.
The company is now moving into the next phase of development of its extensive GoStation, with the addition of more than a dozen new stations powered exclusively by 100% renewable energy sources.
In Gogoro's local market of Taiwan, there are more than 2,000 green and white GoStations, with even more scattered across various Asian countries.

Today’s charging point update reveals the addition of 15 brand new GoStations, which run entirely on 100% clean energy. This means that electric scooters using these stations do not pollute at all during operation , while the electricity that powers them is also generated without emissions.
Gogoro, in partnership with technology company TSMC, announced the launch and expansion of its GoShare electric scooter service in Hsinchu City, where TSMC is headquartered. At the same time, Gogoro announced the upgrade and expansion of its network in the same area, marking a significant step towards developing more sustainable transportation solutions.

The scooters available through the GoShare sharing platform are owned by Gogoro, which recently opened its network to other motorcycle and scooter manufacturers, allowing them to build models that are compatible with Gogoro batteries . Currently, about a dozen electric scooter models from other companies use Gogoro’s standardized batteries, which are serviced by thousands of battery swapping stations. Beyond mobility, these batteries are also used in other areas, such as powering smart parking meters in Taipei and as backup power sources at traffic lights.
The extensive network of GoStations processes nearly half a million battery swaps daily and has achieved an impressive more than half a billion swaps since its launch nearly a decade ago.
Impressively, the company found that its batteries have the potential to last for more than a decade before being used for secondary applications, such as stationary energy storage. This extended lifespan is achieved because the packs are frequently swapped out before they are fully discharged and can be optimally charged at each GoStation, thanks to the use of the most efficient possible charging program for each pack, ultimately offering an even longer lifespan than originally anticipated.

Today, the installation of 15 new GoStations operating exclusively on 100% clean energy was announced, an event described as the “first wave” of a broader plan, indicative of the prospect for more such initiatives in the near future.
Initially, charging stations have been installed in Taipei and other major cities in Taiwan, with the network expanding across the island. This allows riders to cover the 1,000-kilometer (about 600-mile) distance around Taiwan, swapping batteries along the way.
