Discover the Ford Mustang Supercharger Kit: The 2024 model reaches 800 horsepower at an incredibly low price, just $9,995.
Ford Performance has finally revealed pricing and specifics for the supercharger kit that will boost the 2024 Ford Mustang to a whopping 810 horsepower. The supercharger kit will cost $9,995 and can be installed on the Mustang GT and Dark Horse, which are powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine. The full power increase depends on whether the Mustang has an active exhaust system or not, but the supercharger kit's output doesn't drop below 800 horsepower, in total.

That makes the combined price of the turbo kit and the V8 Mustang seem like a bargain. The official turbo kit is probably the cheapest way to get over 800 horsepower without spending an absurd amount of money compared to other options. You could call it a bargain, if you like, while the previous version of the turbo kit for the Ford F-150 was priced at $12,000 and made 700 horsepower. The F-150 turbo kit has since been reduced in price, but it remains at “just” 700 horsepower.

The powerful Coyote V8 in the Mustang doesn’t have a mandatory boost to begin with, but it’s still remarkably potent. The 2024 Mustang GT makes 486 horsepower and 418 pound-feet of torque when running naturally aspirated. The Dark Horse boosts that number to 500 horsepower while keeping the torque at 418 pound-feet. Once this new boost kit is installed, however, the power numbers jump to 810 horsepower at 7,500 rpm and 615 pound-feet of torque at 4,800 rpm. These numbers are dependent on the fuel’s or 91-octane gasoline.
That's the maximum power Ford Performance claims, but it only applies to new Mustangs with an active exhaust system. If a Mustang doesn't have the active exhaust system, the supercharger kit will still offer a generous power increase to 800 horsepower, or just 10 fewer horses. Still, owners are looking at a power increase that easily exceeds 300 horsepower and about 200 pound-feet of torque for less than $10,000. For comparison, the Mustang Dark Horse starts at around $58,000, so a supercharged model would start somewhere around $68,000. The Mustang GT starts at just under $42,000, which means the price of the supercharger kit will bump the price up to $52,000 — before you factor in installation costs, of course.

The supercharger kit can be installed on new V8 Mustangs regardless of transmission type: both the six-speed manual and the ten-speed automatic are compatible. Thesupercharger kit comes with a three-year or 36,000-mile warranty as long as it’s installed by an ASE-certified technician or a Ford dealer. The official part number is M-6066-M8800 and includes a 3.0-liter twin-screw Whipple Supercharger with dual universal valves and dual 92mm intake manifolds. It also requires GT500 fuel injectors and cooler spark plugs, all of which are included. This is completed with an engine tune-up that the automaker calls “Ford Performance calibration.”
The final paradox is that the boost kit is only legal in 49 states and will not be legal in California, likely due to the Golden State. Ford claims that the boost kit “has no detrimental effect on emissions when properly installed and used,” but it has no regulatory approval for use in California.
