HSBC's app and website are down during one of the biggest shopping days of the year.

The outage occurred on Black Friday morning, when major retailers offer significant discounts – and customers are even more likely to check their balances.
Instead, the app displayed an error indicating that the service was unavailable. The bank said it was urgently working to fix the problem, which appears to be causing problems across all of its services.
“We understand that some customers are experiencing difficulties accessing banking services at this time,” HSBC said. “We are investigating this matter as a matter of urgency and will share an update as soon as possible.”
HSBC provides a status page, but it appears to have not been updated. It shows that all services are working normally – despite the company’s statement.
First Direct customers may also be affected, as it is part of HSBC.
