Apple today released a new firmware update for the second-generation AirPods Pro, which is the second update the headphones have received since their release in fall 2019.

The current firmware 5A377 has been updated to the newer version 5B58.
We don't know what new features the updated firmware might include, because Apple hasn't said anything. Apple also doesn't provide instructions on how to update AirPods software, but firmware is generally installed over-the-air while the AirPods are connected to an iOS. If you want to update your AirPods, put them in their case and plug them into a power source, then connect them to an iOS device or Mac.

You can check the firmware of your AirPods or AirPods Pro by following these steps:
- Connect your AirPods Pro to your iOS device.
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap General.
- Click About.
- Tap .
- Look at the number next to “Firmware Version.”
Apple hasn't released any information about what Firmware 5B58 offers, however, users who have managed to upgrade their AirPods Pro Gen 2 to the new firmware are reporting the addition of an 'End Call' control in the settings. The firmware update will also address the 'Audio drift' issues that many users have been experiencing.
