Instagram is reportedly working on a feature that would allow users to add a song to their profiles.

Developer and notable user who leaked the news, Alessandro Paluzzi, posted screenshots of the feature, which he states Instagram is currently testing.
According to Paluzzi, the feature would appear on your Instagram profile at the bottom of bio , below the links section. The developer demonstrated how the feature would work by adding Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up" to his profile — which, let's face it, might suggest the possibility of this feature being released.

Does this feature sound familiar? Well, it's exactly the same as a MySpace feature from the mid-00s.
When the social network was at the height of its popularity between 2005 and 2008, users could add songs to their MySpace.

If you were a teenager or twenty-something in the '00s, you'll probably remember this feature being... "a really big deal." Being able to express yourself publicly through the medium of a song selection was completely groundbreaking for the time.
There is no certainty that Instagram will make this feature available publicly. It is currently being tested and may never see the light of day.
