This year's final of the World Robot Olympiad WROTM 2021 as four teams from our country managed to distinguish themselves in one of the most important institutions for educational robotics worldwide. In the competition with the theme Powerbots - the future of energy, the Greek teams managed to win 4 places in the top ten of the categories in which they competed, standing out among more than 200 teams from 65 countries. The teams were selected from the national competition organized by WROHellas with strategic partner COSMOTE. To date, Greece has won 6 medals and 13 places in the top ten in the World Robot Olympiad.

"The distinctions of the Greek delegation at the World Robotics Olympiad are more important this year than any other year. They show the passion and zeal of our young people for robotics and a better tomorrow and fill us with pride. Their path was not easy. They had to face many setbacks. But they managed to distinguish themselves for another year among giant countries in robotics. Together with COSMOTE, we have managed for the children of our country to love robotics and STEM and to compete with worthy countries with a long tradition," said the President of the Educational Robotics Organization WRO Hellas, national organizer in Greece, Ioannis Somalakidis.

In unprecedented circumstances, they remained dedicated to their goal and managed to stand out. We stand by young people who want to try new things and develop new skills. Through the educational robotics and STEM actions that we support, we have managed to get many young people to learn about and engage with robotics and technology and contribute to a better world for all. The future of our society is inextricably linked to technology and innovation. By investing in the development of young people’s digital skills, we are investing in the progress of Greece.”
