"Apple Car" project: departure of third manager within 6 months

Dave Scott, a member of Apple's SPG (Special Projects Group), is said to have been involved with the "Apple Car". However, he left the company in May 2021 to become the company's president and CEO health care Hyperfine.

According to the Bloomberg, Scott's departure is a blow to the team working on the Apple car, as follows the departures of two other executives. The two former executives left the company in February.

This is not the first time Bloomberg has reported that staff departures are causing problems for Apple Car.

Ο Steve Zadesky had been involved with the car project until his departure in 2016. He was replaced by the former Apple executive, Bob Mansfield, who had retired to carry out special projects for the company.

It is not known how many executives or team leaders there are in the "Apple Car" project. It has been repeatedly reported that Apple has hundreds of people working on it.

It is said that Apple has been working on the car project since at least 2014 and had recently begun negotiations with automakers to build a vehicle. Discussions had been held with Kia-Hyundai but no agreement was reached.

Some analysts had predicted that Apple would announce a partnership with an automaker in the first half of 2021. However, others expect this to happen between 2025-2028 or never.
