Yesterday we published about an accidental announcement made by Microsoft that listed the release date of the Windows 10 Anniversary Update as August 2nd.
The company released a full press release a few minutes ago, officially confirming the date we announced yesterday.
Microsoft says that to date there are 350 million devices running Windows 10, and that “customer satisfaction is higher than any previous version of Windows.”
It recommends that those who do not have the new operating system upgrade their systems before July 29 to take advantage of the free upgrade offer from Windows 7 and 8.1.
The company then details some of the improvements coming in the Anniversary Update, highlighting new features in Cortana and Microsoft Edge.
The final version of the Windows 10 Anniversary Update will be released first to Insiders, as the company wants to make sure everything works flawlessly before the general release of the update.
