Following their successful course, the European headquarters of AOC and MMD in Amsterdam and Prague are also taking on the markets of the Middle East, Africa and additional European and Asian countries

AOC and MMD are taking over the management of new regions from their headquarters in Amsterdam and Prague. Until now, the sales organization of the two companies was responsible for the European countries. Since May 2013, their sales activity has been expanding and they are taking over the responsibility for the Middle East, Africa and Central Asia markets. MMD has the exclusive commercial license for PHILIPS PC monitors and digital signage and, like its sister company AOC, is a 100% subsidiary of TPV, the largest manufacturer of computer monitors in the world.
According to the General Manager EMEA AOC and MMD, Mr. Nico Vernieuwe, the expansion of responsibilities is due to the successful strategy that has been followed in recent years in Europe. According to recent analyses by Meko, both brands have shown a steady increase in their share of the monitor market. As a result, AOC and Philips jointly took third place in the European computer monitor market at the end of last year. “We have focused exclusively on computer monitors, which has led to a number of important innovations on the market,” says Vernieuwe. Examples include the PowerSensor, which offers significant energy savings, the ErgoSensor, which helps users adopt a correct posture while working, the Ambiglow monitors, which diffuse light around the screen, and the latest USB docking monitor, which with just a simple USB cable instantly extends the space on the desktop and gives access to all devices connected to the monitor. Clinical review monitors, suitable for healthcare applications, will be launched very soon.
The growth is also due to the particular focus shown by both brands in the B2B category. Philips monitors have traditionally had a very good presence in this sector. The enrichment of the AOC range ensured for both brands a wide range of products aimed at home and professional users, fully covering the B2B and B2C categories with 170 different models.
In addition, the customer-centric sales policy of AOC and MMD has made a decisive contribution to this growth. “Our partner programs have led to even stronger partnerships with our customers in many markets. By expanding the local sales teams, we have been able to further improve our customer relationships,” says Jakub Grosman, Head of Sales Eastern Europe and CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States). “Despite our increased responsibility, developed markets remain our focus.” Looking ahead, he sees great potential for growth in the vertical markets of the healthcare and education sectors.
