A Facebook claims that the social network failed to take action against a fake page that was set up to take revenge by showing pornographic photos of her by her ex-boyfriend. So she decided to contact the authorities by filing a lawsuit. The girl is asking the social network to pay $0.10 for each subscriber to the page. The amount that adds up to $123 million, as reported by The Wrap.
Meryem Ali has filed a lawsuit against Facebook and her ex-boyfriend, Adeel Shah Khan, who allegedly created a revenge porn page on Facebook featuring Ali's ex-girlfriend. Ali claims that all of the photos were photoshopped and showed fake shots of her body. Some of them even showed a sexual act.
Ali learned about the page from family members who got invites from their friends. Of course, when she learned about the revenge porn page, she reacted immediately. She began submitting repeated requests to Facebook asking the company to delete the page, to no avail.
She immediately contacted the Houston Police Department and miraculously the page disappeared from Facebook.
The lawsuit he has filed “seeks to expose Facebook’s false privacy mechanisms.” He further adds that in other similar cases Facebook has paid millions of dollars.
