A sudden notification awaited Facebook Messenger users on the Windows app , stating that starting Monday, March 3 , the app will stop working .
After two years and without much explanation, Facebook is shutting down its Messenger app for Windows.
Users were informed with a simple and concise message: “We're sorry, but we can no longer support Facebook Messenger for Windows, and it will stop working on March 3, 2014”.
In the link provided by Facebook, the only relevant thing that appears is the prompt to uninstall the application, while on the Messenger main page, it states that the messenger will only for iPhone and Android.
