HMD 's Barbie Phone arrives a little late to take advantage of the summer wave of foldable devices and it certainly has a special charm.
The HMD Barbie Phone, announced earlier this year at Mobile World Congress, is now official and will be available in the market in October, priced at $129 (~€116).
The Barbie Phone is a very basic device, with no apps, just calling and texting. HMD is pitching it as a device for digital detox, allowing you to “take a break from smartphone .” That’s acceptable, as you probably wouldn’t be able to do much more on the small 2.8-inch screen.

However, be aware that typing text with T9 is more difficult than you might remember. There's also a 5-megapixel camera with a built-in flash, which HMD says is ideal for the early days of digital cameras, which are very popular right now.
The device comes with additional themed battery covers, a wrist strap decorated with beads and gemstones, and even the classic game Snake gets a Barbie twist.
The HMD Barbie Phone will support all major wireless networks in the US. It will be available for pre-order on September 23rd and will begin shipping on October 1st.
