RM Sotheby's, a renowned auction house, recently held its first auction in Dubai, achieving an impressive total sales amount of $17 million (62 million dirhams), reports Khaleej Times.
In particular, the highlight of the event was the sale of the Rolex Daytona UAE watch, which sold for an astonishing $300,000 (1.1 million dirhams).
Made around 1978, this remarkable watch features the United Arab Emirates emblem and bears the Arabic signature of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, as well as Ruler of Dubai. It is worth noting that Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum held the position of Minister of Defense at the time the watch was created.

In addition to the expensive watch, the auction saw the sale of three high-performance cars, each of which sold for over 10 million dirhams. The most coveted vehicle was a 2016 Koenigsegg Agera RSR, one of three limited editions, which was purchased for $3.38 million (12.4 million dirhams).
Equipped with a 5.0 V-8 engine producing an impressive 1,160 horsepower, this supercar had just 610 miles on its odometer.
The 2009 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Stirling Moss emerged as the second highest seller, selling for an impressive $3.211 million (11.784 million dirhams), setting another record for the auction price for this model.

Following closely behind, the 2023 Aston Martin Valkyrie Coupé managed to secure its place among the top three sellers in Dubai. This remarkable vehicle, billed as the most powerful Aston Martin ever built, was acquired for a whopping $3.07 million (AED 11.266 million).
The 2017 Lamborghini Centenario LP770-4 Coupé, one of the rarest supercars, sold for $2.142 million (AED 7.86 million), while the 2022 Ferrari 812 Competizione, one of only 999 produced, sold for $1.467 million (AED 5.383 million), exceeding its expected selling price.
