In a time of economic uncertainty, Vanillaware faces challenges in creating Unicorn Overlord

When Vanillaware created 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, they literally put everything in play from a financial perspective. Before release of the game, the studio had exhausted its financial capital and hopes 13 Sentinels will be a success. Fortunately, this was indeed the case, as the game managed to be both a critical and commercial success. Now, the studio is back in that situation again with their newest title.

Vanillaware has already revealed that Unicorn Overlord is the biggest game they've ever made, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that it cost a lot of money. Although no exact amount was given, Vanillaware CEO George Kamitani said that the studio had once again run out of funds. This means that the pressure is back on them, and Unicorn Overlord should bring in big profits.

We'll all soon find out the future of Unicorn Overlord, as the title is set for release on March 8, 2024.
