However, WhatsApp has a very useful feature: it displays warnings below the sender's contact information when receiving messages from unknown numbers. A Block button also appears next to the Add to Contacts button for such conversations. However, it is necessary to open the conversation and the message or block the sender from your conversation list.
But recently, WhatsApp announced a new feature that lets you block messages from an unknown contact right from your screen . In a quick video, the company explained that if a message has all the hallmarks of a phishing attempt, Ponzi scheme, or other scam, you can tap the Block option, right next to the Reply button.

WhatsApp may then display a second message to report the contact. If you wish to report the contact, tap Report contact and then tap Block to confirm your action. Doing so will share the sender's last five messages with WhatsApp, which can take action to protect users .
WhatsApp's new feature improves the user experience in several ways.
