A court service in Australia has been affected by a cyberattack, which allowed attackers to access recordings of hearings.
Court Services Victoria (CSV) revealed the incident today. CSV first reported the cyber. At the time, it said it would take time to determine which records and transcripts had been affected.
The cyberattack led to unauthorized access to CSV systems, resulting in the disruption of the courthouse's audiovisual network, including video, audio recordings, and transcription services.

Immediately after the incident was discovered, the affected network was isolated and disabled. However, the attackers may have gained access to recordings of certain hearings between November 1 and December 21, 2023.These include cases heard in the Supreme Court of Victoria, the state's highest court.

What is most concerning about this attack is that some of the compromised recordings may involve individuals whose identities are protected by court orders or legislation.
