Norton Healthcare: Provides Identity Protection after Ransomware Attack

Norton Healthcare announced that it will provide services to individuals who may have been affected by the ransomware attack on the hospital system.

“On May 9, 2023, Norton Healthcare discovered that it had experienced a cybersecurity incident, which was later determined to be a ransomware attack, as stated in a press release published on Friday. 

Norton Healthcare of Kentucky confirmed that a ransomware incident occurred in May, exposing the personal data of patients, employees and dependents in the healthcare system. The hospital system provides medical care to adults and children through more than 40 clinics and hospitals throughout the Greater Louisville area, Southern Indiana and the state of Kentucky.

According to Norton , there was a two-day period in May where hackers were able to gain access to some network storage devices. There are currently no reports of medical data being compromised.
As a precaution, Norton Healthcare offers protection to 2.5 million people.

Norton will send letters to those who meet the required requirements. Those who may have been affected can contact a designated call center at (866) 983-5764. The call centers will be open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
