The well-known browser Opera , you know, the one with the red (omicron) logo, plans to integrate OpenAI 's ChatGPT into its own products. It is not yet certain which products will be affected by the integration, but it is very likely that the browsers, Opera and Opera GX, will be included.

The announcement follows in the footsteps of Microsoft and Google, which have already introduced their own systems similar to ChatGPT. Microsoft has integrated it into both Bing and Edge , while Google’s Bard AI will be integrated into “Google Search.” Two other major companies, Chinese tech giants Baidu and Alibaba, are also set to release their own versions of ChatGPT. ChatGPT’s popularity has led to a rush for tech companies to release their own versions, either as standalone programs or integrated into existing services. Opera currently has a 3.41% share of the desktop browser market, the lowest among the “ big ” browsers.
Integrating Opera and Opera GX browsers with their own ChatGPT version could potentially increase the company’s market share , especially if it offers a better experience than its competitors. Investing in “new technologies” always carries risks , as evidenced by the damage that some “threat actors” can cause using AI programs – not to mention plagiarism, the spread of dangerous misinformation, and other equally serious issues. However, it is possible that integrating ChatGPT could give Opera a significant boost, just as it gave new life to Microsoft’s almost “ dying ” search engine (Bing) . ChatGPT offers useful and accurate information and answers, helping users with various tasks and giving effective answers to their questions. Information source: techradar.com
