Instagram announced today that it is launching grid pinning: users can pin up to three posts, including photos or Reels, to the top of their profile grid.

Instagram has long allowed users to pin their favorite Stories to the top of their profile grid. However, it wasn’t possible to do the same with postsorReels. That’s changing today with the new grid pinning option available to everyone. Users can now pin up to three photos or Reels to their photo grid.

To pin a photo or Reel, tap the three-dot button that appears above the post and select “pin to your profile.” It’s a great way to highlight your favorite posts that might be buried deep in your profile feed. Creators who tend to post quite frequently will find this very useful.
"Your profile is your image, so we're looking for more ways to give you control over that experience," said Instagram chief Adam Mosseri.
Your pinned posts will occupy the top row with recently uploaded photos , and Reels will appear below them. It works just like Twitter, which allows you to pin a tweet to your personal feed.

The grid pinning feature comes just a week after Instagram announced a slew of new features for creators. The company increased the maximum length of Reels to 90 seconds. Additionally, users can add interactive stickers to Reels and import their own audio from the gallery.
The new grid pinning feature will roll out to everyone on Android and iOS in the coming days.
