Twitter announced Tuesday that its “Twitter Circle” feature is now available to users. The feature allows tweets to be “sent” to a limited number of people a user can designate. The group is limited to 150 followers.

On Tuesday, the social media company tweeted that it is now testing something called Twitter Circle and shared an accompanying video showing how to use it.
Essentially, Twitter Circle is Instagram 's "Close Friends" feature or Facebook 's "Selected Audience ." It's a way to filter who sees specific content you post, without having to lock down your entire account. With Circle, for every tweet you post, you'll have the option to send it to everyone or a smaller group.
Once a Twitter user selects people in their Twitter Circle, any messages sent will only be visible to members of the group, and only those respondents will be able to respond.
The new feature allows you to remove people from the circle without notifying.

What's next: As we mentioned , the Twitter Circle feature was revealed via tweet and there were mostly negative responses from platform users .
Some express concern that the feature could only magnify the divisions that already exist.
The Twitter user below said that the point of using the platform is to share thoughts with as many people as possible.
Others pointed out that the feature takes away the fun of using Twitter and that it doesn't actually provide any additional privacy.

As of press time, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has yet to share his thoughts on Twitter Circle. Will he like it? Will he use it? Who would he include in his 150-person circle, out of his more than 90 million followers? We'll probably find out soon enough.
