If you were thinking about carving your nose or putting underwear on your head while livestreaming on WeChat, think again because it's prohibited.

Tencent runs WeChat, a messaging app used by over a billion people. The app is an integral part of everyday life in China and can be used for everything from payments to booking flights. Last year, Tencent launched a live broadcasting feature called “Channels.”
In an effort to clean up the WeChat platform, the giant tech company published a list of dozens of common "violations" taking place on its platform and had identified them through monitoring its Channels feature.

So-called "vulgar" content is prohibited. This includes any sexually suggestive actions, such as "seductive licking of the lips" and focusing the camera on "sensitive" body parts. So-called spanking is also prohibited.
It is also not allowed to pick your nose and put underwear on your head.
Tencent also lists clothing that cannot be worn during livestreaming, such as fishnet tights. Women are not allowed to broadcast in just their bikinis or wrapped in sheets or bath towels, according to Tencent. Anyone with tattoos is also violating WeChat's rules.

Giant Chinese tech companies are currently under the spotlight of regulators in the world's second-largest economy. Livestreaming is one area that authorities are closely monitoring as its use has skyrocketed during the COVID-19.
