Top British officials reportedly believe it is time for the United Kingdom to review its relationship with China after the communist nation lied and tried to “cover up” the Coronavirus that originated in Wuhan, China. According to the newspaper “The Guardian”, British officials believe that China will become more assertive in defending its unilateral model that has successfully dealt with the Coronavirus pandemic and that Boris Johnson and other ministers should realistically assess the whole situation and consider how the United Kingdom will respond. The issues raised relate to whether the UK wants to restrict acquisitions of key companies in high- tech, such as digital communications and artificial intelligence, and whether it should reduce Chinese students' access to research conducted at the country's universities or any other facilities.
This information came to light after the British Prime Minister was discharged from the hospital where he was being treated for Coronavirus, as a result of which he spent a few days in an intensive care unit. In the first statement made by Boris Johnson upon leaving the hospital, he said that he managed to leave after a week in which the National Health Service (NHS) saved, without a doubt, his life. He added that it is difficult to describe in words his gratitude to the medical staff, thanking those working in the United Kingdom in the fight against the pandemic. He also thanked the people who took care of him by name, saying that things could have turned out differently without them.
The Secret Intelligence Service, also known as MI6 , has told ministers that China significantly understated the number of coronavirus cases and deaths in January and February, echoing similar briefings given to the White House by the CIA . The UK should therefore review its relationship with China. For example, a group of Conservative backbenchers, many of whom were prominent Brexiteers, have begun to form a large section of China skeptics.
On Monday, China reported a sharp rise in new coronavirus cases in the country, the highest number in about six weeks, as the communist nation had to impose a lockdownborder. An Asia analyst, Gordon Chang, told Fox News last week that there were other signs that China was facing a major outbreak. But more worryingly, the virus may have spread to other cities, especially those in the east, such as Shanghai and Beijing ,which may have a large number of cases that China is not talking about, but instead “covering up”. The reason for such suspicions is the fact that in Shanghai, many of the tourist attractions have closed again for three to four days, while they had been open a week ago. This is a significant indication that there is a problem in major Asian cities, which needs to be investigated further to uncover the truth.
