Canonical has announced the release of Ubuntu 16.04.1, the first maintenance update of the latest LTS (long-term support) release. This release is suitable for users who want to reinstall Ubuntu 16.04 (or any of the official Ubuntu flavors).
Those of you already using Ubuntu 16.04 can get the update through their package manager.
“The Ubuntu team is pleased to announce the release of Ubuntu 16.04.1 LTS (Long-Term Support) for its Desktop, Server, and Cloud products, as well as other flavors of Ubuntu with long-term support.”
The updates include security updates and critical bug fixes to maintain stability and compatibility with Ubuntu 16.04 LTS.
Currently available are: Kubuntu 16.04.1 LTS, Xubuntu 16.04.1 LTS, Mythbuntu 16.04.1 LTS, Ubuntu GNOME 16.04.1 LTS, Lubuntu 16.04.1 LTS, Ubuntu Kylin 16.04.1 LTS, Ubuntu MATE 16.04.1 LTS and Ubuntu Studio 16.04.1 LTS.
