North Carolina has been facing mass outrage lately over a homophobic law it passed that requires transgender people to use public restrooms based on the gender listed on their birth certificate!
While the state also banned new protections to combat discrimination against the LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) community. Several companies and artists have already pledged to boycott North Carolina, and now porn website xHamster is joining the list, blocking users in the state from viewing porn until the controversial law is repealed.

According to the Huffington Post, xHamster visitors from North Carolina were met with a black screen on Monday afternoon, which the site plans to replace with a petition to repeal the law.
“We have spent the last 50 years fighting for equality for all, and these laws are discriminatory and xHamster.com does not tolerate them!” a spokesperson for the site said. “Judging by the statistics of what users from North Carolina are watching, we believe this punishment is harsh enough. We will not stand idly by and profit from a system that promotes this garbage. We respect and embrace all forms of sexuality!”
Boycotts have proven to be a popular form of protest against the legislation, with Bruce Springsteen recently canceling a concert in the state to protest the law and PayPal canceling its plans to open a global operations center there.
