Apple is launching a new 2-week campaign today, with sales through the App Store, the proceeds of which will be donated to the fight against AIDS.
Starting this morning, it will offer new content in 25 apps through the App Store and donate the proceeds to the global fund to fight the disease. Among the apps are Angry Birds, Garage Band, and FIFA 15.
As CEO Tim Cook states, the company supports this fight and believes that the gift of life is the greatest gift anyone can give. For 8 years, the company's customers have been helping with this fight in Africa. This year, with this campaign, which will be the largest ever at the company, some of the best minds at Apple will help raise funds through the online Apple Store, as well as the company's stores.
Apple Black Friday & Cyber Monday.
Additionally, on Friday, November 28, and Monday, December 1, which are traditionally the company's busiest days, the proceeds will again be donated to the fight against AIDS. The company's partnership with RED, the organization for the fight against AIDS, began in 2006, when Appledonated $10 for every sale of the iPod Nano Red Special Edition. The organization's founder, Bono of U2, is fighting the virus in Africa.
