Edward Snowden appeared via video call at the SXSW , which is taking place in Austin, Texas. As The Verge, the speech was not public, but was given to a small group of about 20 people, who attended by invitation.
Snowden used the session to call on technology companies to showcase equipment against mass surveillance and pushed for the development of SSLfor Web security.
