Facebook announced that its advertising campaigns will be easier to organize, measure, and optimize from March 4th onwards. This is because from the previous date, advertising campaigns will consist of three levels instead of two. These are campaigns , ad sets , and ads , which will work as explained in the image below.
Each campaign will contain a basic advertising objective and as many sets the advertiser desires. Each Ad set will be able to accept a separate budget and schedule, thus helping advertisers to more easily measure the most effective ads. Also, each Ad set will be able to contain as many Ads the advertiser desires, with each ad having a separate image, text, link or video. Finally, each ad will be able to target a different audience and accept a different bid.
The new Facebook ad hierarchy is very similar to that of Google AdWords, which is expected to be more helpful for advertisers who use both previous ad formats.
The previous changes will go into effect for all advertisers on March 4. More information can be found in the Facebook Help Center.
