With much anticipation, Nothing finally reveals the release date of the Phone 2A on March 5th!
Nothing announced today via a new video that its upcoming 2A phone will be launching on March 5th, and confirmed that it will be available in the US as part of a “Developer Program” rather than a wider, official release. No specs, images, or pricing were given for the device — we’ll have to wait for the full announcement next month, when we’ll also get full details on Nothing’s developer program. The event will take place at 11:30 a.m. GMT (6:30 a.m. ET), the company confirmed to X .

The Developer Program sounds like a similar release approach to the one Nothing took with its original Phone 1, which arrived in the US as part of a “Beta Membership” that saw interested customers pay $299 to “try out” the phone. In contrast, the Phone 2 received a more formal US launch last year. No carrier sold it directly and it wasn’t certified to work on Verizon, but it was fully compatible with both T-Mobile and AT&T.
Nothing hasn't explicitly confirmed that the Phone 2A will be a more affordable alternative to the Phone 2, but it's been heavily hinted at. Today's video featured a leading question about how the company plans to "make this phone cheaper," only for Nothing CEO Carl Pei to slyly refuse to confirm any pricing details.

In the absence of official information about the 2A phone, the rumor mill has been hard at work filling in the gaps. Reports suggest that the phone is set to cost less than 400 euros in the EU, which translates to around $430 in the US, and be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7200.
As for the phone's design, there have been conflicting reports, including a leak that was later retracted. That leaves the design leak spotted by Dylan Roussel as the first contender, which suggests the phone could come with a simplified Glyph interface consisting of just three light strips instead of the 11 found on the Phone 2. Its dual cameras could be horizontal in the center of the phone's back like a pair of eyes, supporting Nothing's "See the world through fresh eyes" tagline for the phone.

While it doesn't show an official design of the phone, today's video includes concept sketches of the phone 2A that match Roussel's leak. While the full launch isn't until next month, Nothing is holding an event in Barcelona on February 27th to coincide with MWC.
