You won't find Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth taking on Call of Duty at the top of the sales charts, but by all indications, with a huge open weekend, it has garnered attention for its compelling narrative, interesting gameplay, and record-breaking success.
For example, in an interview with Japanese publisher 4Gamer, director Masayoshi Yokoyama revealed: “Today, there are both physical and digital versions, so it’s difficult to compare the numbers with older titles, but in terms of the number of pre-orders for the physical copy, it’s the highest in the history of the series.”

And while we'll need official Famitsu sales data to determine exactly what those numbers look like, the title has been off to a record start on the PC, Steam, with the total concurrent player count reaching 46,161 - an all-time high for the series.
Of course, we'll have to wait for more information specifically about the PS5 and PS4, but it looks like the title is off to a strong start.
