According to a CNBC report, some hourly workers at the factory, which produces Tesla's pickup truck as well as batteries, will receive wage increases of about 10% or more starting in January 2024. This may be a strategic move to curb Tesla workers' interest in forming a union in Nevada.

Last month, the company made a similar move, when it offered a 4% to 11,000 workers at its Berlin, following efforts by Germany's largest union to organize at the plant.

At the time, Tesla denied the connection between the wage increases and union activity.

Allegations that there is a connection between Tesla’s wage adjustments and union activities are unfounded ,” Tesla told the WSJ

Meanwhile, Tesla workers in Sweden have been on strike since October, when the IF Metall union announced a strike, and are trying to convince Tesla to sign a collective labor agreement, which is established in the country.

This has sparked several solidarity strikes in both Sweden and neighboring countries. Unionized workers at the Swedish National Postal Service are refusing to deliver Tesla license plates, while unions in Norway, Finland, and Denmark are supporting the strike and refusing to load, unload, or transport Tesla shipments.

Elon Musk called the strike in Sweden “crazy,” but a court in Sweden ruled in favor of a permanent blockade against the company.

One of the main reasons for the strike by Tesla workers is working conditions. Workers have expressed concerns about excessive working hours and a lack of safety in the workplace.

Additionally, Tesla employees have complained about the lack of transparency regarding career and promotion prospects within the company. There is a sense that promotion decisions are made arbitrarily and not based on employee performance.

Finally, employees have expressed concerns about their compensation. Many feel they are not being paid fairly for the time and effort they put in, while others claim the company does not provide adequate benefits.
