First up is the door and window sensor . You can place it on your door or window (basically any access point) and receive alerts if they open or close unexpectedly.

It also connects directly to an smart bulb . As for light, there's the Vallhorn wireless motion sensor, which turns on the lights when motion is detected. You can choose the color and amount of light you want, with the sensor controlling up to 10 IKEA smart bulbs.

Rounding out the new offerings is the water leak sensor , which alerts you to any unexpected water leaks before your floor discovers them. The device can send you notifications on your mobile phone or trigger an alarm.

The sensors are small and white, better blending into your home environment (unless you really love the color). All sensors are compatible with Dirigera Hub , but only the Vallhorn works with the older Tradfri gateway.

The company IKEA highlights people's desire to feel comfortable and safe in their homes as a motivation for these new products. «Everyone wants to feel safe at home and we are excited that they are entering a new area of smart products that create not only a better, but also a safer life at home», said Stjepan Begic, Development Product Designer at IKEA Sweden, in a statement. «We believe that these products can provide our customers with a sense of security and greater control and comfort.» The three new components follow the release of previous sensors from IKEA, such as the Vindstyrka, which measures air quality.
