Nissan has officially unveiled the 2024 Z NISMO. Like most performance versions, NISMO has focused on upgrading the track driving experience, both visually and mechanically.

The Z NISMO is a step up from the Nissan Z Performance version. While that model offers a limited-slip differential, larger wheels and brakes, stiffer suspension, and better seats, the NISMO takes all of that to the next level and adds redesigned bodywork, stickier tires, and more horsepower.

How much more power?

Under the hood, the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 gets a redesigned wastegate, better cooling, and performance-enhancing ignition timing based on the GT-R NISMO. The result is an extra 20 horsepower and 23 lb-ft of torque over the standard Z. The Z NISMO makes 420 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque, with peak torque available from 2,000 to 5,200 rpm. The hot engine also gets a larger oil cooler, so you can use all that power on the track for longer.

Without manual transmission

The Z NISMO is an automatic transmission car with NISMO-only clutch packages and retuned engine management software. It features a Sport+ driving mode and paddle shifters. The front fascia is extended and the grille opening is redesigned for additional engine cooling. The car features a red stripe, NISMO badging and a black painted roof. It features aerodynamic add-ons, 19-inch gloss black wheels and Dunlop SP Sport MAXX GT600 tires. The brakes are larger with heavy-duty brake pads. The chassis has additional bracing and the NISMO has stiffer bushings, mounting points and larger dampers for track agility.

Red

Inside, the red theme continues on the anodized Stop/Start button and drive mode selector. New graphics on the digital display mirror the red outer border and flash a NISMO-only animation upon start-up. The leather and faux suede Recaro seats (manual adjustment only) feature a red center and NISMO logos on the headrest, while even the steering wheel has been redesigned with a red accent mark on the top.

The Z NISMO is available in five colors, four of which are available on all Z models, Brilliant Silver, Passion Red, Black Diamond Pearl and Everest White Pearl, and one of which is exclusive to NISMO, Stealth Grey.

Pricing has not yet been announced, but the Z NISMO will go on sale in the fall as a 2024 model.
