OnePlus has started 2023 off with a bang with the launch of the OnePlus 11, and recently announced at MWC that it will release its first foldable device later this year. This is nothing new – we’ve been hearing rumors about the OnePlus Fold for almost 12 months now!

It's good to have confirmation of what we already suspected. We thought OnePlus would reveal key details about its upcoming foldable at MWC – the mobile-centric show would be the perfect venue to unveil the product – but that's not the case. The only information we've received is that the foldable is a product that OnePlus is working on and that it will be released in 2023.
Kinder Liu, COO and president of OnePlus, revealed that their foldable will be powered by the smooth and fast Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.This only confirms that the company is committed to living up to its slogan – “fast and smooth”.

“Our first foldable phone will have the signature fast and smooth OnePlus experience. It needs to be a flagship phone that doesn’t get bogged down by its foldable form factor, in terms of industrial design, engineering, and other aspects. We want to release a device that aims to be at the cutting edge of the foldable market.”
As for the hardware, the foldable is likely to feature a unique design that isn't based on BBK's existing designs. More details will surely be revealed in the coming months.
