Vera Jourova made it clear that "in the EU, journalists must be protected from eavesdropping and freedom of the press must be ensured," as she noted in the relevant post she made on social media about the meeting with Gerapetritis. A message that can easily be translated as an ultimatum from Brussels to the Mitsotakis government, which despite loud interventions and warnings from the EU continues steadfastly implementing the cover-up tactic.
