Rumor has it that TikTok is now testing the in-app shopping feature in the United States market. The feature is already available to users in the United Kingdom and Indonesia.

While maintaining its focus on video sharing, TikTok is expanding its operations, attempting to enter new areas such as gaming and e-commerce. The company also plans to compete with large retailers such as Amazonby allowing users to complete their purchases without even leaving the app. TikTok already has a similar experience to Shopify.

US businesses are now being invited to participate in TikTok's new features program, which is in a testing phase, according to several outlets. Laura Perez, a TikTok spokeswoman, confirmed the US market test but declined to reveal more information.
TikTok Shop, an in-app feature, has been around for some time in countries like the UK and Indonesia. But as e-commerce becomes more competitive in the US market, TikTok is looking to tap into its massive user base. Plus, with the holiday shopping season just around the corner, it’s a fantastic opportunity that the ByteDance doesn’t want to miss.

TikTok has been working on its e-commerce plan for a few years now, dubbed “Project Aquaman.” The project is actually part of a larger plan that aims to bring a version of China’s $400 billion livestream shopping industry to the United States.
