Bases 2020: The Ministry of Education's page has "fallen"! Candidates are protesting!

The anxiety of thousands of children came to an end today, after the results of the 2020 Panhellenic Exams . However, the extensive search for the 2020 results and bases resulted in "falling" page shortly before 9:00 in the morning.

Many candidates visited the Ministry of Education website results.it.minedu.gov.gr but were confronted with the following message:

 Ministry of Education
Bases 2020: The Ministry of Education's page has "fallen"! Candidates are protesting!

The platform opened normally, shortly after 8:30, only to “crash” ten minutes later. The ministry’s website was restored half an hour later, platform results.it.minedu.gov.gr, through which candidates can see the school and department they are admitted to, remains inactive.

Of course, the incident caused dissatisfaction and strong protests on behalf of the candidates for the Panhellenic Exams, as the platform has not been operational for several hours.

Representatives of the Ministry of Education inform that the connection problem is due to the high traffic and overload that was caused and they recommend patience to all interested parties, as efforts are being made to restore it.

Even Luben.tv assessed the problem in the Ministry of Education system in its own unique way:

SecNews OPINION: The fact that for so many years on the day of the announcement of the results, the servers of the Ministry of Education have been constantly “down” and are not accessible to those directly concerned (students and parents) raises questions. It is noteworthy that information technologies now allow the management of extremely high levels of internet traffic of any kind. Could it be that the competent IT administrators, at the behest of their superiors, cannot implement technologies such as Amazon's Cloudfront, Multiple Load balancing NOSQL Databases, AWS Global Accelerator, Akamai Edge, Fastly or even cheaper solutions such as BunnyCDN? Because the technologies exist and are relatively low-cost, we are left with questions as to why students and parents should prolong their anxiety on this day due to technical problems, but also why Minister Kerameus herself is not fully resolving the issue that is plaguing the Ministry in question.

With a sense of social responsibility for the benefit of the wider community, the SecNews technical team is at the disposal of the competent technical services of the Ministry (Information Systems Development Directorate - Department E of Examination Applications) and the Information Technology Directorate and intends to undertake any cost of consulting services from our team in order to propose, implement or configure this specific service so that it can respond to the higher number of requests in accordance with the existing infrastructure of the Ministry, now and in the future.
