Google Chrome 71 is now available to all Windows, Mac , and Linux. If you haven't downloaded it yet, open the Google Chrome browser on your computer > Click the "three-dot menu" in the top right corner > Help > About Google Chrome.
Your browser will automatically check for new updates and install them. As promised, Google Chrome 71 brings a plethora of security features to the fore.
Starting with a ban on deceptive websites and ads, Chrome 71 will block all abusive ads across the web. These “abuse ads” include fake messages, deceptive website behavior, phishing, automated redirects, ads with incomplete or misleading branding, and more.
After reporting the content for abuse, violators will have 30 days to remove the malicious content from their site. In addition to this, Google will now display a warning for websites that present deceptive mobile subscription forms. Such websites ask for your number to proceed. Once you do, they immediately charge you for a mobile subscription without your consent.
Many websites automatically perform some form of speech synthesis. In the past, many developers abused the Speech Synthesis API to trick users. With Google Chrome 71, developers will need to include user interaction to add this accessibility API.
