
British Airways announced that its website has been hacked and data of more than 380,000 of its customers has been stolen.
The company has revealed that the data was stolen between August 21 and September 5, and the hack has been reported to the authorities.
It appears that customers' names, addresses, phone numbers, and payment information may have been leaked in the hack.
From 22:58 BST on 21 August 2018 until 21:45 BST on 5 September 2018, the personal and financial details of customers who made bookings on ba.com and the airline's app have been affected.
Alex Cruz, Chairman and CEO of British Airways, said: “We are deeply sorry for the disruption caused by this criminal activity. We take the protection of our customers’ data very seriously.”
