Microsoft has introduced the first visual update for Office.com , which offers new features that help users find and open their files more easily.
Office 365 users who sign in to the redesigned website will find that frequently used apps appear more prominently, so you can open services like Word, Excel, OneNote, and Outlook with fewer clicks. While there's currently no option to rename apps, the company is looking into making them faster to navigate.
Additionally, customers will be able to add files to their recent documents list with new filters that provide instant access to Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote files. This feature is useful when you want to repeat work on an existing document as it saves you from having to search through your history.
You can preview upcoming events as well as create, view, and complete tasks on Office.com, which you can sync across all devices connected to the same Office 365.
"We enable users to have a clearer picture of scheduled events as well as better communication with their colleagues, always being informed of anything that arises," the company explained.
Unfortunately, at this time you cannot disable electronic documents or work pieces, but you can hide unwanted content.
Microsoft notes that this is the beginning of a larger series of updates that will follow in the near future. The aforementioned updates have already begun to be sent to users around the world.
