US President Barack Obama is known for his support of information technology. Working in the same direction, last weekend the White House announced that low-income families will have free internet with the help of the Google Fiber service. In this “ConnectHome” groundbreaking announcement, Mr. Obama said: “Internet is not a luxury, it is a necessity!”

The White House mission called “ConnectHome” aims to bridge this great digital divide in America. The mission states the following:
Every child should be given the same opportunity to build a better future and achieve their dreams. It should be noted that the United States' biggest ally, India, is experiencing a widespread digital revolution, in the form of the Digital India initiative.
Barack Obama stated:
Today, we have the opportunity to take another step towards bridging the digital divide in America and ensuring that everyone in America has a high-speed Internet connection.

The situation in the US is not so bad. About 98 percent of Americans have “some” type of internet access. Another notable distribution of internet access is defined by race. Black, Native American and Hispanic households have about 10 percent less internet adoption than “White households.”
During his announcement, the US president also stated:
People aren't born programmers. They learn.
