Faster browsing via HTTP/2 from Google

Google is evolving Chrome to support the faster HTTP/2 protocol, starting with version 40 of the browser.

Also, in 2016, the company will stop supporting SPDY, a protocol it developed a few years ago, which was originally created to replace HTTP, offering faster browsing, up to 50% compared to the HTTP protocol.

In a blog post, Google analyzes the reasons why it is "abandoning" its own SPDYin favor of the new HTTP/2.

HTTP /2 is the evolution of the current HTTP/1.1 and is based on increased performance when browsing the Internet.

Some important elements of HTTP/2 are better compression (and therefore faster browsing), multiplexing , and better priority management during browsing. Google created SPDY in 2009 to achieve all of the above, but this is no longer necessary as they are natively supported by the new HTTP/2 protocol.
