High-end storage device manufacturer LaCie has been hit by a hacking attack that resulted in a breach of sensitive data. The company says cybercriminals used malware to steal information about transactions made through its official website, lacie.com.

According to an official announcement from LaCie, hackers may have gained access to user usernames, passwords, full names, addresses, email addresses, credit and debit card numbers.

The company is conducting a forensic investigation into the breach to determine the source of the attack. All users who made a transaction through LaCie's official website between March 27, 2013 and March 10, 2014 are affected by the attack.

Users' passwords have been reset, the e-commerce section of the website has been disabled, and the company has outsourced transactions to a company that specializes in secure payment processing.

Customers should monitor their payment cards and contact their banks immediately if they detect any unauthorized charges.
