According to sources at The Information, Apple is reportedly working with Alibaba to develop and make AI features available on the iPhone for users in China.
It is said that the popular American company and China's Alibaba submitted the Chinese artificial intelligence features they jointly developed to receive approval from China's cybersecurity regulator.

The report says that, starting in 2023, Apple began testing different AI models from Chinese developers and chose Baidu as the main partner. However, it appears that the partnership was later terminated because Baidu's progress in developing models for Apple Intelligence fell short of the American company's expectations.
In recent months, Apple has begun looking at other options, evaluating models developed by Tencent, ByteDance, Alibaba, and Deepseek. While Deepseek has been gaining attention recently, its team lacked the manpower and experience Apple was looking for to support its AI capabilities.
