Apple: New donations to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS

In celebration of World AIDS Day, Apple announced that it will once again donate $5 for every purchase made with Apple Pay on Apple.com, the App Store , or an Apple Store. The money will go to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria. Donations will be made from purchases made between November 29 and December 8.Apple said its donation this year will be capped at $3 million.

The Global Fund aims to combat serious diseases in the developing world. Apple says its donation to the organization will continue to "fund critical, life-saving health programs."

This year's Apple donations will be made in anticipation of World AIDS Day, which is set for December 1.

Apple has supported The Global Fund for 18 years, including through its partnership with (RED). Apple offers some products in red , and a portion of the proceeds from the sale of those products go to The Global Fund. Apple said it has raised more than $250 million to date. However, the company no longer carries many of those products. The only current-generation (PRODUCT)RED that Apple sells new is the iPhone SE 3, which is expected to be discontinued in March.

Beyond that, the only remaining (PRODUCT)RED products are the iPhone 14 and a few older iPhone cases. Apple didn't offer any iPhone 15 models in (PRODUCT)RED, and that trend has continued with the iPhone 16 models (so far). It did, however, offer the Apple Watch Series 9 in (PRODUCT)RED last year.
