LG Velvet will receive Android 13 in Q1 2023

Even after nearly two years since the smartphone business was shut down, LG is still keeping its promises and continuing to update its latest Android phones. A number of devices have received the Android 12 update, including the LG Velvet, G8X ThinQ, V50 ThinQ, V60, and Wing. Since the LG Wing and LG Velvet are also eligible for Android 13, the company has announced its software update plan for next year.

LG has stated that the LG Velvet will receive the Android 13 update in the first quarter of 2023. While no specific timeline is given for when the LG Wing might receive it, we do know that four devices – including the LG Wing, Q61, Q92 5G, and also the Q52 5G – can expect upcoming Android security updates during this quarter.

If you live outside of LG's home market of South Korea, the wait for Android 13 updates may be a bit longer. Based on this year's schedule, we predict that users in other regions will be able to get the latest version sometime during the second quarter. Unfortunately, those with an LG Wing device should prepare for a longer wait, as it only recently received the Android 12 update.
