The latest operating system for iPhones will be available next week, according to Ars Technica. iOS 15.4 will bring the ability to unlock your iPhone using facial recognition while wearing a mask, among other additions. We expect this to be the last major update to the operating system before iOS 16.

iOS 15.4 entered beta in January, giving us a glimpse of the new features. Apple didn't give a specific release date for the operating system, but said yesterday that the new green iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro will come with iOS 15.4 and will be available on March 18.

iOS 15.4 will let you unlock a phone with Face ID while wearing a face mask. The feature works by focusing on your eyes, and you can use it while wearing glasses (but not sunglasses). It also works for signing in to apps and using Apple Pay. If phone requires a full view of your face to log in, it's still the most secure way to ensure Face ID can't be fooled, but being able to use your phone while keeping your mask on is more convenient.
Apple's latest iOS release will bring a slew of new emojis. The new emojis were finalized as Unicode 14.0 by the Unicode Consortium in September.
Other features rolling out include a new American voice for Siri and, as detailed by The Verge, Apple Tap to Pay and a notification that lets you know if someone is using Apple AirTags to track you without your knowledge.
