Symantec's Elias Chantzos among Young Global Leaders

Symantec ilias hatzosThe World Economic Forum recently announced the list of new members selected for the Young Global Leaders Forum. Among the 214 charismatic young personalities recognized for their achievements and contributions to society is Mr. Elias Chantzos, Symantec’s Senior Director of Government Relations, Critical Infrastructure Protection and Privacy Advisor for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region.

In his role at Symantec, Mr. Chantzos represents the company to government agencies, national authorities and international organizations, providing advice on public policy issues, with a focus on IT security and risk management and data availability. Prior to this position at Symantec, Mr. Chantzos was responsible for the company’s Government Affairs Programs for SE Europe, Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ).

Ms. Cheri McGuire, Vice President of Government Relations worldwide for Symantec, said after the election of Mr. Hantzou: «Ilias has been part of the Symantec family for the last 10 years and I am very happy about his election, which demonstrates his abilities and achievements both in the professional arena and in society».

The 2014 Young Global Leaders list was formed from an initial pool of 2,000 candidates assessed by Heidrick & Struggles and reviewed by a selection committee chaired by HM Queen Rania al-Abdullah of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Candidates were evaluated based on specific criteria, including their past achievements and their commitment to society.
