Security researcher Charlie Miller, in collaboration with consulting firm Accuvant, has published a prediction about the future of jailbreaking on iOS systems. And it's not enough, as far as end users are concerned.
For those unfamiliar with notorious hacker Charlie Miller, he's a guy who's been hacking bits out of Apple's entire arsenal of iPhones and Macs for years at hacker conferences around the world. So his opinion should count when it comes to jailbreaking. In a recent tweet, Miller suggested that evasi0n — the new iOS jailbreak — could be the last of its kind.

“Congratulations to the evasi0n #team! My prediction is that this will be the last public jailbreak released,” Miller said.
He later reported that these types of hacks could bring their creator a profit of up to $250,000.”
But that's not the only reason Miller believes evasi0n will mark the end of the era of jailbreaks as we know them. The hacker also pointed to some additional factors.

His prediction naturally attracted attention and surprise in the hacking scene, even from fellow hackers like Comex who responded to Miller,
“I can’t speak for them, but we’re not going to do it like i0n1c who thinks jailbreaking is just for the money.” Whether or not Miller’s prediction is accurate, we don’t know, but the $250,000 figure certainly provides an incentive not to release a jailbreak publicly to the general public. And it certainly seems like donations have become a must lately.
